While looking for a couple of new books to read, I came across Susan’s newest novel. After reading the synopsis, I bought it. When I finished it, I was thirsting for more of her writing and thankfully another novel had recently been published and written with her son titled, The Seafaring Women of the Vera B. Be looking for a review in the near future. The story takes place in a small town where Debra Griffin is looking for a job after deciding that her current path of studies at college wasn’t looking favorable. While stopping to get gas at a local station, which is owned by her best friend, a man comes running out and quickly drives off. Debra runs in to find out a robbery occurred and then meets Detective Michael Van Sant when he comes to question her at the gas station. In that moment, Debra’s life is about to change in many ways. She has no idea what is coming around the corner. When she lands a job, it is as a secretary to the detectives with Michael being her boss. Soon it becomes apparent that there is something wrong in the department as various items come up missing or damaged, as well as other mysterious happenings.
I found the story heartwarming and interesting even though there really wasn’t lots of action, adventure or danger. Really the action focuses on Debra and Michael leading to possible romance as well as a working relationship. The faith theme is strongly woven throughout the novel and I liked how it was written in a way that reflects the realistic struggles and triumphs of life lived with faith. I hope many take time to enjoy curling up with this novel as it was well written and tugs at the heart without a whole lot of unnecessary drama. I loved the compassion and faith with which Michael sought to let Debra know how he felt. This is a great novel for which I would love to see a sequel written!

The Saboteur Susan Page Davis 9780997230857 Books Reviews
I love romantic suspense stories. THE SABOTEUR is a wonderful suspense novel. Susan Page Davis kept me guessing as I kept turning pages. The characters grabbed my heart. You won't want to miss this one.
I loved the interaction between the two main characters-the humor because of the heroine's shyness, their slowly deepening relationship and their faith in Christ that was evident. All the characters were well developed and the mystery kept me guessing until revealed.
Insecurities, crime, and a handsome detective combine to challenge Debra and grow her in ways she probably never anticipated.
The Saboteur is a fun romance woven with mystery. It's not a nail-biting suspense (which is better for your manicure!), but rather a who-done-it that will keep you looking through clues to find the suspect.
Michael is perhaps too good to be true, but his compassion and patience with Debra are endearing. Debra has to deal with ongoing struggles that may resonate with some readers, as her battles are very real.
If you enjoy romances or mysteries, The Saboteur is a sweet one to dig into!
Nothing like going to college and getting a degree and then not being able to get a job in your field. Debra Griffin finds herself in this predicament and ends up finding a job at the local police department, as a secretary. She has issues from the start with her immediate boss Micheal Van Sant. He's nice to her, but she just freezes up or when she talks it sounds stupid. She gets to the point that she can't take it any more and is in the process of turning in her resignation, when Michael takes her aside and asks if they can't both just try harder to get along. He vows to change anything and everything about himself, if it would make her stay.
Michael takes Debra into his confidence because there is a saboteur in his unit and he is trying to find out who it is, before someone or one of his cases is seriously hurt or damaged. Debra is seriously interested in helping to find out who the culprit is. Meanwhile, she has to fight her own personal feelings for her boss. She's beginning to fall in love with him.
Very good contemporary romance, suspense, mystery novel.
From the time that Debra Griffin first laid eyes on Sergeant Chief of Detectives, Michael Van Sant at her friends convenient store she had felt uncomfortable around him. The store had just been robbed and Debra was able to give the detective a good description of the criminal and the car that he he made his get away in. Later when Debra got a job working at the police department as a Secretary for Sergeant Chief of Detectives her feelings toward him didn't improve but only got stronger. Was it because he intimidated her by his authority and good looks or was Debra attracted to him and felt self conscious in his presence.
As time went by Debra became good at her job and her boss took her into his confidence and told her about strange things that seemed to be happening to the detectives that worked under him. Someone seems to be trying to set them up for mishaps and trying to make the department look bad. Michael knew it had to be one of the man that worked with him but he wasn't sure who the Saboteur really was. Everyone was a suspect . Michael asked Debra to work with him to help solve this mystery. How far would this unknown Saboteur be willing to go and what would he try next to make the department look bad.
I liked how Michael gave Debra the time to get over her anxiety towards him. I enjoyed reading how the detective department worked and their daily routine. Susan Page Davis has researched it very well and made the story seem real. I especially enjoyed the nail biting suspense in the last few chapters of the book as the author bought the story to a close. I admit I had no idea who the Saboteur really was. Not a clue! Which made it a great reading experience for this reader. If you love suspense thrillers and crime solvers don't miss this book.
I was given an e-book copy of The Saboteur from the author. I have given an honest review on how I felt about the book.
Good read. Will look for more written by author
I enjoyed the characters growth and testimony.
The saboteur was kept a mystery up until the end making a fun read.
